WIth Mrs Thornton Henry recently embarked of a trip to Australia’s great outback. Great scenery, some awful roads, car trouble and wonderful assistance by Aussies encountered along the way were the highlights. Goats were harder to find but ere there in mobs at the end.

Readers will be pleased that our final days travel, from Cobar to Kew, involved no further difficulties. One fact not mentioned in the detailed reports is that The Australian is now available in most hamlets and towns. And there is mobile phone access but little wifi. So much for the NBN?
